Top movers on NSE, BSE 12th sep 2025: Sensex, Nifty extend gains, Bajaj Finance, Maruti, Eicher Motors lead rally
The domestic market extended gains in mid-trading session on Friday investors grew more optimistic about potential interest rate cuts by the US Federal Reserve.
Sensex gained 355.35 pts or 0.44 per cent to trade at 81,904.08 at 12.56 pm, soaring to an intraday high of 81,992.85. Nifty 50 climbed 106.90 pts or 0.43 per cent to 25,112.40.
The midcap and smallcap indices rose by 0.26 per cent and 0.51 per cent, respectively. A majority of the sectors traded with marginal gains. Banking, financial, auto and pharma indices rose 0.5-0.7 per cent, respectively, while FMCG, PSU Bank, media and realty dipped.
Top gainers & losers intraday
Among the Sensex firms, Bharat Electronics, Bajaj Finance, Shriram Finance, Eicher Motors and Maruti led the gainers of Nifty 50. Hindustan Unilever, Tata Consumer Products, Wipro, Eternal and IndusInd Bank traded as major laggards.
A total of 3,006 stocks were traded on the National Stock Exchange, with 1,620 advancing, 1,293 declining, and 93 remaining unchanged.
The market breadth was positive, supported by 67 stocks, including Bajaj Finance and ACME Solar, hitting 52-week highs, while 28 touched 52-week lows. Meanwhile, 74 stocks were locked in the upper circuit and 43 in the lower circuit.
Top midcap and smallcap movers
Among the midcap segment, Bharat Dynamics, Cochin Shipyard, Mazagon Dock, Solar Industries and Supreme Industries soared 3-6 per cent, while Aditya Birla Fashion, Jubilant Food, OFSS, Bank of Maharashtra and Patanjali declined 2-3 per cent.
Smallcap stocks Hindustan Copper, BEML, GRSE, Data Patterns and Nuvama rallied 5-9 per cent. Godfrey Phillips, Welspun Living, Devyani International, Aster DM Healthcare and Afcons declined 2-3 per cent.
